A few milestones have come and gone since things got crazy and since my baby books are packed up and buried at the bottom of a stack of boxes somewhere, I need to record them so they aren't forgotten.
Collin's first time to laugh was on July 15th. Allison tickled him on the neck and he let out a little chuckle. Collin is a jovial little guy. He is always smiling and giggling.
His first time to roll over was August 17th and latetly he's been trying to crawl. He can actually cover a little ground doing the army crawl.
And August 28th was his first time trying solid foods. He is doing great, he just gobbles it right up.
Allison's first day of preschool was August 24th. We had registered her for preschool months ago at a preschool in Walker but we of course had to cancel that. I was really afraid that we wouldn't be able to get her into a class here because they'd all be full this close to the start of school. I put her on a few waiting lists and a week before classes started on of the schools called back to let us know they were opening another class. She absolutely loves preschool. She loves her teacher and has lots of fun doing the arts and crafts and learning. She even loves doing homework at home.
As for Sara, we've tried to start potty training a couple of times but she doesn't really seem interested right now so I'm going to give her a little more time. She has lately become technologically proficient. There's not a device she picks up that she can't operate. She's a natural, it must be in the genes. I think she can use my phone better than I can. She knows how to get to the video streaming app and watch Dora (it's a multi-step process and we never showed her how to do it) and she can play all of the games without any help.
I brought Allison and Collin for a check up last week and they are both growing and doing well. Collin is still 90th percentile for height and about 50th for weight (15lb) and Allison is average for height and on the low side for weight (as usual). We did find out that Allison has a heart murmur. Her pediatrician referred us to a pediatric cardiologist and I'll bring her next week to let them check her out but the pediatrician is confident that it's an "innocent" heart murmur and won't require any intervention.

Collin is so BIG! I can't believe how much he has grown.
Sara needs to teach me how to use my phone!
Please keep us updated about Allison. Does it make you wonder why Dr. F never noticed?
P.S. I promise I'm going to email you back. A whole bunch of stuff is happening in the Kern house.
